Much-needed new homes
The joint venture has been brought together with the objective of delivering a high quality sustainable residential development on this allocated and previously consented site.
The revised scheme will deliver upon many of the agreed principles of the Local Plan allocation and the existing planning consent. Since 2014, when the previous consent for the site was granted, no one has been able to deliver these much-needed new homes due to viability issues associated with the previous proposals. Crest Peabody (Turweston) LLP is strongly committed to delivery, and the new proposals for the site are not only deliverable but also offer a number of benefits compared with the 2014 planning consent for site.
Compared with the 2014 planning permission for the site, there will be an uplift in the number of homes being delivered from 350 homes to 405 homes. The additional homes will optimise the efficient use of land in a recognised sustainable development location and will help to offset some additional housing pressures across the wider area.
The new scheme will deliver a minimum of 40% affordable housing in line with local planning policy.
